JW Marriot Edmonton wedding / Rayna & Alon
Rayna and Alon got married on a perfect sunny day in September in Edmonton, Alberta.
We started the day at Rayna´s house, where the Bedeken took place. The Bedeken, for those who don’t know, is the veiling when the groom approaches the bride and then veils her face. This signifies that his love for her is for her inner beauty, and also that the two are distinct individuals even after marriage.
This happened just with close family and friends. Everyone was happy and thriving, and it was a morning full of laughter and love; they also signed the Ketubah during the morning celebrations.
After that, we went to the Ledge for some photos. These guys wanted something intimate, classy, and sophisticated. Even though this is a popular place for taking pictures, we did it a little differently, bringing a backdrop.
Their reception was at the JW Marriott, which is just the living room of the ICE District in Edmonton. This downtown Edmonton luxury hotel is just steps from the New Royal Museum, the Convention Center, the art and festival district, the River Valley, and the financial core.
Everything was held in 2 ballrooms, the Wayne Gretzky ballroom, a 10,000 square foot. Floor-to-ceiling, full-wall windows with an unforgettable backdrop of Edmonton.
And the Jari Kurri Ballroom, a 3,000-square-foot junior ballroom, that offers a chic aesthetic with flexible space that can also be divided into two sections.
Im obsessed with Rayna and Alon, they are the perfect couple. You can see the love they have for each other, but also their friendship, and how they always had a good time together.
And boy! Rayna’s smile is what every photographer dreams of.
And of course, this wedding couldn’t happen without these colleagues, it’s so fun to work with such talented people and see familiar faces.
