Indian wedding at Dreams Natura resort
What a magnificent time we had shooting this wedding. Destination weddings are our favorite for so many reasons but this one was in our beloved Mexico so that’s the reason it has a special place in our hearts. Every time we have the chance to shoot there, especially in Riviera Maya our heart is full. Riviera Maya is our second home.
This wedding was a 4-day event at Dreams Natura and Spa. This resort is all-inclusive and has so many places to hold your big day: From the beach gazebo, beach terrace, indoor patio/garden, the pool, or even the spa that is a cave you will have plenty of places to choose from. They even have a special room for the brides to get ready.
Regarding the rooms, they have all sizes and types. For example, the couple’s room was on the top floor with an outdoor jacuzzi, amazing ocean views, and a perfect terrace.
The first day was the Mehndi party where the bride celebrated with all the women. This is when women get decorate their hands and feet with henna designs. It was the perfect start to the celebrations right by the beach and the sea as the backdrop. She wore this amazing blue outfit from Torani that screamed Mexico.
On the second day, the Maiyan happened in the morning at the gazebo by the beach. Maiyan is a preparation ceremony one day before Punjabi weddings where a paste is rubbed on the bride and groom by family and friends; the traditional meaning of Maiyan is to cleanse the skin and create a glow!
The rest of the day they all had the best time hanging by the pool. That is the great thing about having all your guests in the same place, you can have enough time to party and chill. Then by the afternoon, we had the Sangeet. It was held on the terrace looking to the ocean and these people showed us that they know how to party. They had the best time dancing, and singing!
And yes, Sapna wowed us with her outfits every single day. This time she wore a beautiful lehenga from Aneesh Agarwall.
On the third day, the Ceremony happened right by the pool. The couple walked down this crystal aisle wearing Sabyasachi. Chef´s kiss. And on the fourth and final day, the reception happened in the garden. It was so beautifully decorated. I know it depends on what you like and your budget, but it has been one of the best resorts decoration-wise that we have been to. It was modern and classy.
This time, Sapna wore a custom lehenga that she created alongside Ejaaz couture and Gursi wore Gucci.
